Badminton World Federation (BWF) can confirm Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been withdrawn from today’s quarterfinals at the YONEX GAINWARD German Open 2022.

Intanon returned a positive result to a mandatory Antigen test conducted Friday morning. Her opponent He Bing Jiao of China received a walkover.

Testing protocols have been implemented at the tournament in accordance with BWF and German Badminton Association guidelines to safeguard the health and safety of all participants.
